Plus, the 'Be Careful' rapper opens up about her first pregnancy.
Cardi B may have made money moves at the 2018 Met Gala, but her night didn't go exactly as planned.
In a new interview with The New York Times, the pregnant "Be Careful" rapper reveals she was "upset" that her fiancé, Offset, didn't get to walk with her on the red carpet. Instead, he posed for pics with Quavo and Takeoff from his rap group, Migos, while Cardi walked with designer Jeremy Scott.
Cardi, who came through drippin' in a custom, pearl-encrusted Moschino gown, says Offset was originally supposed to wear the matching companion suit Jeremy donned Monday night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Her beau ended up attending the star-studded soiree as a guest of Donatella Versace, sporting vibrant matching Atelier Versace tuxedos with Quavo and Takeoff. "It’s like, if y’all got so much people going with y’all, y’all could have just let him walk with me and take the two boys," Cardi says of the designer's long list, which also included Katy Perry and Kim Kardashian West. "That’s why my baby ain’t never gonna stand out."
Regardless, Cardi certainly made her own statement, even making it onto ET's Most Outrageous & Fabulous Looks of the 2018 Met Gala list. She tells the Times that despite how awesome her outfit looked, it was "extremely heavy" with "just crazy" beading.
On top of all of that weight, she's also carrying her and Offset's first child!
"Shorty weighs three and a half pounds. She do," Cardi reveals, teasing the baby's gender. “She do weigh three and a half pounds. That’s pretty good for seven months, right? Because I was born five pounds."
ET spoke with Cardi on the red carpet next to the famous steps at the Met, where she also referred to her baby as "she" while joking about her "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination"-themed ensemble.
“[It weighs] about 35 pounds plus baby," Cardi said at the time. "She wants to fight me."
