The pregnant rapper says her fiance, Offset, has plans to raise their kids in Atlanta.
On the opening track of her recently released debut album, Invasion of Privacy, Cardi B boasts that she’s a “real b***h, only thing fake is the boobs.” However, the 25-year-old rapper is getting even more candid about enhancing her body in a new interview with GQ.
“All right, here's the thing," Cardi tells the magazine “When I was 21, I did not have enough meat on my body—if I was to get lipo, I wouldn't have fat for my a**."
A Bronx native who began working as a stripper to makes ends meet before gaining viral fame on Instagram and then becoming a reality star on Love & Hip Hop: New York, Cardi bluntly explains that she wanted to enhance her assets in order to make more money -- and because of a cheating boyfriend who had been swayed by a woman with a “fat, big a**.”
So, Cardi says, she turned to a woman who gave her illegal butt injections in a basement apartment in Queens. "They don't numb your a** with anything," she recalls. "It was the craziest pain ever. I felt like I was gonna pass out. I felt a little dizzy. And it leaks for, like, five days."
These days, the outspoken “Bodak Yellow” rapper has made the most of her “money moves,” and is celebrating the release of Invasion of Privacy -- which was certified gold on the day of its release -- as well as the announcement that she’s expecting her first child with her fiance, rapper Offset of Migos.
Cardi confirmed the long-rumored news on Saturday, showcasing her baby bump during her musical performance on Saturday Night Live, and later tweeting, "I started winning when the whole world was doubting on me! think imma lose with my little baby counting on me?"
While the rapper doesn't talk pregnancy specifics in GQ, she does open up about Offset’s desire to get married and raise their family in his Atlanta hometown.
"I always feel like his people and him gotta feel comfortable," she explains. "[Offset]'s never comfortable in New York. He loves down south. He told me to move in with him, in Atlanta. I stayed in his house a couple of times, but it's so hard to live there.”
“He decided, though, that we're going to build a house in Atlanta, and that's the house that we're gonna raise our kids in,” Cardi adds. “But my job is in New York, always, so I can barely spend time in Atlanta."
They may have some time to decide on family homes, but will they be decorating the baby’s room with blue or pink? On Sunday, Cardi’s sister, Hennessy, shared a photo of the rapper’s SNL performance, along with a sweet tribute to the mom-to-be that has many fans thinking she accidentally revealed the baby’s gender.
"A baby is truly a blessing from god I know how much you always wanted to be a mom!" Hennessy wrote. "You always been Like a second mom to me so I know u gonna be the best mommy everrrr. you took care of me like i was ur own daughter I know how much you LOVE babies."
"I use to wish I was older than you just so I wouldve gotten the chance to carry you and give you kisses when you were a baby because you were so cute and adorable!” she continued. “And NOW that ur baby is coming its like it's coming true! I'm going to be able to hold ur baby and give the baby all the kisses and hugs! your pregnancy is mines we pregnant can't believe we're having a baby! hehehehe and to my brother @offsetyrn @iamcardib Auntie hennny aowwww."
Screenshots seem to show that Hennessy’s original caption read “give her all the kisses and hugs,” before later being edited to the gender-neutral “the baby,” leading some fans to think Cardi and Offset are expecting a girl.
Boy or girl, it seems the whole family couldn’t be more thrilled about the new addition. Following Cardi’s announcement, Offset tweeted a photo of the couple with the caption, “C A R D I A N D I L O O K F O R W A R D T O O U R N E X T C H A P T E R T O G E T H E R.”
