The actress tells ET about her four-hour lunch with Priscilla Presley and smells her 'Priscilla' co-star Jacob Elordi's viral candle.
The 2024 Golden Globes red carpet was graced with the presence of the talented Cailee Spaeny, who stars in the biopic Priscilla.
Spaeny, donning a stunning Mui-Mui ensemble and hair look done by Kiley Fitzgerald using Kristin Ess Hair products, spoke to ET about her experience preparing for the iconic role of Priscilla Presley and smelled her co-star Jacob Elordi's viral Saltburn bathtub candle.
Spaeny shared the excitement of portraying Priscilla Presley on the big screen. "I mean, it's incredibly intimidating, and, you know, playing a real person who's gonna see the film at the end of the project. You know, there's a lot of responsibility that we had on all of our shoulders," Spaeny admitted.
She then gushed about her lunch with Presley, describing it as a surreal and special experience. "Priscilla couldn't have been kinder every step of the way, giving us support and, you know, calling her at any point. I had all these questions in my head ready to go. I had read her book, and then Priscilla Presley walks in through the room, and everything goes out of your mind. You're sitting in front of American royalty," Spaeny confessed.
The actress revealed that Presley had to remind her to ask questions during their lunch because she was so awestruck. "But she was so gracious. I think we talked for like four hours the first time we met. So it was so surreal, but really special," Spaeny added.
When asked about the significance of being at the Golden Globes, Spaeny expressed her gratitude, saying, "This is it. When you're a little girl like me sitting in my bedroom in Springfield, Missouri, thinking about what Hollywood is like. This is what you think of, and to be lucky enough to have this experience is just, it's really, you know, one in a million. I'm trying to take everything in."
The conversation took a lighthearted turn when Spaeny was presented with Elordi's viral Saltburn bathtub candle.
Laughing, she admitted, "This is everywhere ... it slightly terrifies me. I can't believe this is a thing. How, how does it, should I smell it?" After taking a sniff, Spaeny remarked, "I don't even know how I should react. It smells really nice."
When asked if the candle smelled like Elordi, Spaeny laughed, "I don't know." The actress hesitated when questioned if it smelled like his bath water, exclaiming, "Oh my god. Oh my god. He's my friend! I couldn't! I can't! It's too weird! I had to, like, close my eyes in some of those parts in Saltburn because I can't see-- this is one of my best friends doing these scenes. I can't unsee this right now."
