Busy Philipps also shared on her Instagram story a song that reminds her of the late actor.
Busy Philipps got emotional while reflecting on the life of her friend, Heath Ledger.
The actor died 10 years ago on Monday, and Philipps shared an Instagram story of a song that reminded her of the Dark Knight star. Listening to MGMT's "Time to Pretend," the 38-year-old actress started to tear up, admitting, "I was just driving and I was thinking about my friend, Heath, who died 10 years ago and this song came on, 'Time to Pretend.'"
Philipps says she heard the song after Ledger had passed away and it made her think of him. "I just thought he would have liked this song," she confides while tearing up. "And for some reason, every time I hear this song… it’s weird."
The Freaks and Geeks star also shared a somber photo of her and Michelle Williams, Ledger's ex-girlfriend and the mother to their now 12-year-old daughter, Matilda, with the message: "It's OK."
In addition, Philipps posted a video of the best friends -- who were co-stars on Dawson's Creek -- listening to the Cranberries song, "Linger." The band's lead singer, Dolores O'Riordan, died earlier this month.
Williams and Ledger started dating after meeting on the set of the 2005 movie Brokeback Mountain, and in October 2005, Matilda was born. The two separated in September 2007.
On Jan. 22, 2008, Ledger died of "acute intoxication" by mixing prescription drugs, according to the New York coroner's report. His death was determined to have been accidental. He was 28.
