A source also tells ET Jenner and Josie Canseco called it quits at the end of October.
Brody Jenner almost had an awkward run in with his ex, Kaitlynn Carter.
An eyewitness tells ET that, on Thursday night, The Hills: New Beginnings star and Carter, 31, were spotted out in Los Angeles, at sbe's Nightingale grand reopening party with a special performance by The Chainsmokers and JAJA Tequila.
Jenner and Carter were situated on opposite sides of the club, with Jenner hanging with Frankie Delgado and his friends while Carter was spotted with a new mysterious man. Jenner's ex tried to keep a low profile while hanging out with her gal pals, who kept watch on her former beau while she was with a new flame. Per the eyewitness, Carter was seen texting up a storm before making her way out of the packed club hand-in-hand with her new beau.
Jenner, meanwhile, was there with a new girl. A source tells ET Jenner and Josie Canseco called it quits around the end of October.
Jenner and Carter called it quits in August after five years together. While the pair had a wedding ceremony in Bali back in 2018, they never legally tied the knot. Jenner then began dating Canseco, while Carter moved on to Miley Cyrus, who called things off with her estranged husband Liam Hemsworth after photos of Carter and Cyrus kissing surfaced on Aug. 10. They split in September.
Carter recently opened up about her romance with Cyrus. In an essay for Elle, the 31-year-old reality star wrote about how over the summer, she and "a female friend" fell for each other while travelling throughout Europe.
"This past July, I went on vacation with a female friend; the next thing I knew, I was in love with her. It wasn’t quite that simple, of course. But it also wasn’t very complicated, either," Carter penned. "Until that trip, it had never crossed my mind that I was even capable of loving a woman the way I loved her. But after reflecting on my romantic history, I realized that I’ve never really had a 'type.'"
She also touched on her relationship with Jenner and how the "legitimacy" of their marriage had become a matter of public debate. "For he and I, it was very real. He was quite possibly the most beautiful man on the planet, with a heart of gold and a tireless sense of adventure. I was drawn to his spirit," Carter explained. "He became my best friend, and together we had all the fun the world had to offer."
"Eventually though, after years of constant 'excitement,' we found we’d done as much growing apart as we’d done growing up," she continues. "I began to spend a lot of time traveling on my own or with friends, quietly mourning what I knew in my heart would soon be the end of my marriage."
Their split, Jenner recently told ET, will play out on season two of the Hills reboot.
"I'm sure you're going to see a lot of that," he said. "Of course, you have to stay tuned to see what goes on with that. But, you'll definitely see some of that."
