Britney Spears Has Spoken to Her Sons on the Phone and They're Open to Reconciling

Britney Spears is mom to Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17.

Britney Spears' relationship with her sons is heading in a good direction. In a statement to ET, an attorney for Britney's ex-husband, Kevin Federline, gave an update on where things stand between the singer and her kids.

"Reconciliations and the reunification of relationships are difficult and take time. They are sometimes complicated and always a lengthy process. The process has not really commenced, let alone [been] completed," Mark Vincent Kaplan, Kevin's powerhouse attorney, told ET of Britney's relationship with Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17.

"The good thing is that the boys saw their mom was doing well and have a desire to speak with her," he added. "There has been some telephonic communication between Britney and her sons, and we think that is a step in the right direction."

For now, ET has been told that the boys are living with their dad in Hawaii, a move that Britney consented to last year. Britney has not visited their kids yet, ET has learned.

Daily Mail was first to report the news of a potential reconciliation between the singer and her sons.

The update comes just over a month after a source told ET that Britney "wants to prioritize taking care of herself and reestablish a relationship with her family, including her kids."

"This is a top priority of hers and she would love to heal things and get to a place where things can be healthy and consistent," the source added.

Back in 2022, Jayden expressed a desire to repair his relationship with his mom.

"I 100 percent think this can be fixed of course," he told ITV News. "It's just going to take a lot of time and effort... I really want to see her again."

Speaking directly to his mom, Jayden added, "I love you a lot, I hope for the best for you. Maybe one day we can sit down like this and talk again."
