Spears is further pushing back at the claims that she had a 'breakdown' inside the hotel last week.
Britney Spears is feeling the opposite of overprotected, following last week's incident at the Chateau Marmont hotel.
On Monday, Spears took to Instagram to share her feelings on the photos that surfaced last Wednesday, where she is seen visibly upset and wrapped in a blanket while leaving the swanky establishment. According to the pop star, she hurt her foot -- and the moment was embarrassing.
"honestly wish my life was as wild as it has been portrayed !!! Either way, some s**t actually has happened to my foot and I might have to get surgery ... fingers crossed, hopefully not but I feel that I was harassed and gaslit and tricked to go on the street when my car was supposed to be there !!!," the 42-year-old songstress wrote.
"I was in my pajamas and yes, I had been crying because I hurt my foot !!! No breakdown !!! I'm a grown ass woman who is actually very naive in most situations !!! I am simply embarrassed they got me in my damn pajamas !!! I don't feel loved … I feel mistreated !!! With that said, I'm going to treat myself this week !!!"
Spears' caption was accompanied by a self-filmed video of her on a horse, speaking to a wrangler who approaches her with a cowboy hat. The "Toxic" singer also pans the camera to herself and films while she's riding.
Last week, the singer sparked concerns when she was seen leaving the hotel in West Hollywood wrapped in a blanket while wearing short white shorts. At the time, Spears was with her former housekeeper, Paul Richard Soliz. Though an ambulance was at the scene, Spears did not get into it.
An eyewitness told ET, "Britney came out with Paul Richard Soliz and some others. Someone gave her a blanket to throw over and she had a pillow covering her front. She took a few steps and turned around and went back, not getting into the stretcher they had brought out." While it's not clear if the ambulance was called for Spears, the eyewitness added that a woman in Spears' entourage was seen speaking with paramedics.
The following day, Spears took to Instagram (in a since-deleted post) and shared an AI-generated image of a man, with a caption disputing the pictures that circulated on the internet.
"Just to let people know … the news is fake !!! Most of the pics are body doubles and I think most know that !!!," the caption read. "I would like respect at this time for people to understand I am getting stronger everyday !!! Truth sucks so can someone teach me how to lie ??? Goddesses out there, I'm reaching my higher power and furthermore, I hope you guys are too !!! I need a new toothbrush right now !!! PS … I need an espresso !!! PSS … Not sure why I feel the need to share this … I guess I'm just a girl and I'm on my period so I’m b**chy … sh*t."
Amid Spears' latest public outing, and settling her divorce from Sam Asghari, a source told ET that the GRAMMY-winning singer is focused on herself and rebuilding her personal relationships with family.
"Britney wants to prioritize taking care of herself and reestablish a relationship with her family, including her kids," the source told ET. "This is a top priority of hers and she would love to heal things and get to a place where things can be healthy and consistent."
