Brad Pitt and George Clooney Address Whether They're Really Friends

'It's a very good question. After the restraining order that I took out...,' George Clooney quipped to 'GQ.'

After a handful of movies together and decades as two of Hollywood's most famous modern leading men, Brad Pitt and George Clooney have been walking similar paths for quite some time -- but are they actually friends?

That's the big question posed to both longtime movie stars -- and upcoming co-stars of Wolfs -- by GQ for the September 2024 issue's cover story.

"It’s a very good question. After the restraining order that I took out…," Clooney quipped.

Retorted Pitt, "Which was really, I had already had one against him -- it’s kind of redundant. Unnecessary. This is why we’re sitting six feet apart now."

Kidding aside, the Ticket to Paradise star confirmed they have indeed "been friends for a long time." As such, they check up on each other as any pals would.

"Things get complicated in life and you always have to make sure everybody’s okay," Clooney pointed out.

That includes while Clooney is on set with their fellow Ocean's co-star, Julia Roberts.

"I would get photos of them with the dumbest looks on their faces at each location you moved to," Pitt said. "I didn’t even want 'em."

On a more serious note, Pitt acknowledged that they both understand the unique highs -- and lows -- of celebrity, particularly as he's likened stardom to a gazelle being cut off from its pack and hunted.

"George is going to understand something that no one else is going to understand, that we don’t even have to speak about," Pitt said. "There’s a comfort in that."

That bond has evidently translated to the silver screen. More than a month before the release of their film together, AppleTV+ confirmed a sequel is already in the works

Wolfs hits theaters Sept. 20 before debuting on Apple TV+ on Sept. 27.
