Blake Lively Injured on Set of 'The Rhythm Section,' Production Temporarily Suspended

The 30-year-old actress is portraying a woman that is seeking revenge after her family is killed in a plane crash.

Blake Lively was filming in Dublin, Ireland, when she sustained an injury that put the whole production on hold.

On Monday, Paramount Pictures released a statement to ET, saying "Paramount, Global Road (fka IM Global) and producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli today confirmed that filming has been temporarily suspended on The Rhythm Section as Blake Lively sustained an injury to her hand whilst filming an action sequence.  Production will resume as soon as possible."

Lively was just recently spotted on set looking nearly unrecognizable with an edgy brunette pixie cut and baggy clothes. In The Rhythm Section, which also stars Jude Law, the 30-year-old actress portrays Stephanie Patrick, who is seeking revenge against those who orchestrated a plane crash that killed her family.

It's not yet known if this halt in filming will affect the film's release date, which is scheduled for some time early next year.

Lively recently discussed her role in the film and the double standard of actresses having to always be likable in movies. "You always see that thing in movies where if a woman is a prostitute or a sex worker, you always think, ‘I don't want the guys to be grossed out by her,'" Lively said while on Vanity Fair's "The Limelight" podcast. "We have to still make her kind of sexy ... tragically sexy, but you know, music video."
