Billy Ray Cyrus Files for Divorce From Wife Firerose Citing 'Inappropriate Marital Conduct'

Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for divorce from Firerose. They got married on Oct. 10, 2023, two months after his ex, Tish, got married.

Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose are calling it quits. He filed for divorce from her after less than a year of marriage, ET can confirm.

According to court documents obtained by ET, the Hannah Montana star filed the paperwork on May 23 in Williamson County, Tennessee. He lists the date of separation as May 22 and cited the reason for the dissolution of the marriage as "irreconcilable differences" and "inappropriate marital conduct." Under "Grounds for Annulment," Billy Ray noted "consent to Marriage was obtained by Fraud."

The court documents state they briefly lived together for seven months. The docs also state she had to leave Billy Ray's residence on May 24 by 5 p.m. and could not return except with written permission from Billy Ray. The court documents state Billy Ray must pay her $500 per night for 10 nights so she can stay at a hotel or Airbnb while she searches for a place to reside.

Afterwards, Billy Ray must pay her $5,000 per month to obtain suitable housing in the middle Tennessee area for 90 days or the dissolution of the marriage, whichever occurs first. He'll fork over the money on the first  day of each month for the first three months, and she must also hand over Billy Ray's social media and other account passwords.

At this point it's unclear as to what exactly led to the divorce. Billy Ray's attorney, Jason Talley, tells ET, "Mr. Cyrus and the court filings speak for themselves. Currently we don't have any further comments to add."

An attorney for Firerose (real name Johanna Rosie Schloem) had no comment.

TMZ was first to report on the divorce.

The "Butterfly Fly Away" singer, 62, and Firerose, 36, tied the knot on Oct. 10, 2023 in Franklin, Tennessee. The couple announced the then-happy news on Instagram and called the nuptials an "ethereal celebration of love."

"10/10/23 will always be the beautiful, joyous day that our two souls united as one in holy matrimony," they captioned the post, which featured the happy couple embracing on a mountaintop. Billy Ray kept things traditional with a black suit, while Firerose wore a long-sleeved lace gown and flowing veil, with makeup done by Jessica Candage.

"It was the most perfect, ethereal celebration of love we could have ever imagined. For both of us to hear the preacher say, 'Billy Ray and Firerose Cyrus… I now pronounce you husband and wife' that was the sacred moment our new forever began. Long Live Love!"

The couple -- who first met on the set of Hannah Montana, before becoming musical collaborators -- got engaged in August 2022.

They opened up about their relationship in an interview with Good Morning America last August, just a few days after Billy Ray's ex-wife, Tish, also remarried -- tying the knot with Prison Break star Dominic Purcell.

"It has been a beautiful whirlwind," Firerose said of her and Billy Ray's romance. "I'm just so grateful that I get to live my dreams every day with the love of my life."

Shortly after Tish tied the knot, Billy Ray and Firerose made their red carpet debut at the 16th annual Academy of Country Music Honors in Nashville, Tennessee.

This will mark the "Achy Breaky Heart" singer's third divorce. He was previously married to Cindy Smith (1986-1991) and then Tish. They tied the knot in December 1993 and divorced in April 2022 after nearly three decades of marriage.

Billy Ray and Tish share three children -- Miley, 31, Braison, 30, and Noah, 24. Billy Ray also adopted Tish's children, Brandi, 37, and Trace, 35.
