'Ex on the Beach: Peak of Love' premieres on Thursday.
Daniel Maguire is back on our TV screens following his dramatic Bachelor in Paradise breakup with Lacey Mark in 2017 -- and it seems he hasn't changed a bit.
"I've been good since then. I've been great," he tells ET over the phone, ahead of his debut on Ex on the Beach: Peak of Love. He's done another few dating shows since his breakup with Mark -- including a run on Bachelor in Paradise Australia -- but Ex on the Beach will see him reunite with another ex, Sydney Langston.
ET's exclusive clip from the premiere shows the Canadian Maguire shirtless and pouring maple syrup over his abs -- which he boasts compensate for his "sh*t personality."
"If I truly believed I have a sh*t personality, I don't think I would say that," he tells ET. "That would be pretty depressing."
"Every show I've ever been on, one of the most famous scenes in reality TV would be when I was talking to Chad [Johnson], [comparing] him to Hitler. I've always kind of liked to stir the pot and ruffled some feathers," Maguire explains. "I kind of like to troll people, I guess is the best way to say things. I can do it with a straight face and people often don't realize I'm just trolling them and messing around the whole time. Otherwise it's boring. I have to get my kick somehow."
Maguire hasn't talked to Johnson, the famous Bachelorette bad boy who gave a big "f**k you" to Chris Harrison on BiP, in about three years. He keeps in touch with other members of Bachelor Nation, including Jordan Kimball, DeMario Jackson and Vinny Ventiera, but it's his friends in Vancouver who he's hoping to entertain with his appearance on Ex on the Beach: Peak of Love. He doesn't watch any reality TV except for the episodes he stars in.
"You realize you have no control over how you come across. Obviously if you sit there in the corner and don't say a single word, there's not much to go off of. I just try to do me in a sense and hopefully it works. If it does, great. If not, it's not the end of the world," he says.
"As long as I have a laugh and my friends have a laugh, that's all that matters. Those are the people that really count, friends and family," Maguire continues. "Once you don't care what people care about you, you truly reach freedom. I mean, if I cared what people thought about me, I would have never done another TV show after The Bachelorette. Now I've done eight shows."
Seeing Maguire end Ex on the Beach in a relationship isn't the most "realistic," he says, given his respect for the "bro code" -- but he'll definitely give fans something to watch.
"It's going to be very dramatic, lots of confrontations, it's crazy," he promises. "It's a lot different than the last shows I've done, that's for sure."
Ex on the Beach: Peak of Love, also starring Georgia Steel, Niall Aslam and Sam Bird from Love Island U.K., Adore Delano from RuPaul's Drag Race, Allie DiMeco from Temptation Island and more reality stars, premieres Thursday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
