Edie Falco on Gandolfini's Posthumous SAG Nom
James Gandolfini earned a posthumous SAG nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role, and his Sopranos co-star Edie Falco opened up about how much the honor meant to her on the red carpet.
The nomination stemmed from Gandolfini's role in Enough Said, which let fans see a different side of the Golden Globe winner.
"I was so glad people got a chance to see who he really is," Falco told Nancy O'Dell. "This character was closer to the real [Gandolfini] than Tony Soprano was. It was a treat to see how fully he could express the regularness of his personality on screen, so I'm very pleased."
Gandolfini passed away at 51 on June 19 after an apparent heart attack. He is survived by his wife Deborah Lin, daughter Liliana and son Michael.
