Michelle Williams Dishes on Her Globes Date

Sure, the dazzling dresses attract the most attention on the red carpet of big award shows, but following in at a close second is the beautiful man or woman on the arm of the nominees as they arrive. This year, Michelle Williams tells us she plans to bring along an especially alluring bit of arm candy, her best friend (and Cougar Town star) Busy Phillips.

We caught up with the My Week With Marilyn star last night at InStyle's Forevermark Diamond Preview party for which she played co-host, and although Williams admits to being nervous and excited for this weekend's festivities, she says her former Dawson Creek co-star, who was busy hamming it up for cameras during Michelle's interview, would be her ally to combat the Golden Globe jitters. Pointing to her friend she told ET, "that lady right there, she's a beautiful date."

The two came together last year as well to the Globes as Michelle was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for Blue Valentine. This year she is up for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy for My Week With Marilyn.

The 69th Annual Golden Globes is set to air live Sunday, January 15, on NBC.
