Ariana Grande's One Love Manchester Benefit Concert Earns BAFTA TV Craft Nomination
Other big nominees include ‘The Crown’ and ‘Game of Thrones.’
Ariana Grande’s One Love Manchester benefit concert didn’t just raise more than $9 million for the Red Cross and inspire viewers across the world, now it’s up for a 2018 British Academy Television Craft Award.
The annual BAFTA TV Craft nominees were announced on Thursday morning, and One Love Manchester picked up a nomination in the category of Entertainment Craft Team. The special will be competing with the teams of The Voice UK, Strictly Come Dancing, and World War One Remembered: Passchendaele.
The fundraiser, which took place last June following the tragic bombing at Grande’s Manchester concert, was aired live around the world.
Netflix’s The Crown scored big with a total of seven nominations, Black Mirror earned five, and HBO’s Game of Thrones picked up two nominations for its penultimate season. The award show was established in 2000 to highlight technical achievements, after trophies were previously handed out alongside the BAFTA TV Awards.
The ceremony will take place on April 22nd and will be live streamed on Twitter and YouTube.
