The MTV star shared the news on social media almost two years after her mom's initial diagnosis.
The Teen Mom family has suffered a tragic loss. Angie Douthit, the mother of Teen Mom 3 and Teen Mom OG star Mackenzie Douthit, has died following an almost two-year battle with brain cancer.
Angie passed away on Monday evening at the age of 50 with her final days "spent lovingly surrounded by family and friends," according to a post on her Instagram account.
Mackenzie shared several Instagram posts in honor of her late mother, including one of her crossing a finish line in a race.
"Momma @angiedouthit has crossed the finish line. She did not lose the battle, she [won]. She is healed and running in heaven in eternity. Idk anyone who left earth with such an impact," Mackenzie wrote. "Momma, I did not deserve you. But you loved me so unconditionally. You were the glue that held me together. The one who always believed in me. Idk what I will do without you but I hope this goes by fast so I can hurry and come be with you."
Angie's battle with cancer played out on this past season of Teen Mom OG, with Makenzie having to tell her four children about their grandmother's ongoing health issues.
After hearing the news of Angie's death, Mackenzie's MTV co-star, Catelynn Lowell, sent her love on Twitter, writing: "@DouthitKenzie I am sooo sorry for the loss of your mother... thinking of you and the family."
Randy Houska, the father of Teen Mom 2 star Chelsea Houska, also shared his condolences, writing, "I am certainly older and lost my parents many years ago, but my heart goes out to @DouthitKenzie because I can still feel the pain of the loss of a parent. It is a helpless feeling and one feels like there will be no end to it. Eventually memories bring smiles instead of tears."
