Fererra is nominated in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category for her role in the film.
America Ferrera is making a stunning statement as she returns to the Oscars! On Sunday, the Barbie star hit the carpet at the 96th Annual Academy Awards and she was a vision in pink, an apparent nod to the film for which she's nominated.
The 39-year-old stunned in a custom-made metallic pink gown by Atelier Versace, which took 400 hours to make. Completing her look, Ferrera wore custom-dyed pink satin shoes by Stuart Weitzman and a Pomellato necklace.
Complementing her look was her husband, Ryan Piers Williams, who kept it traditional in a classic tux.
She also posed alongside Billie Eilish and Finneas, who are behind some of the music in Barbie.
Ferrera's last Oscars appearance was in 2020, when she walked the carpet with her growing baby bump.
This year, the Ugly Betty star is not only serving as a presenter, but as a nominee. Ferrera is up for an Oscar in the Actress in a Supporting Role category for her role as Gloria in Barbie.
The stacked category also includes Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple), Da'Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers), Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer) and Jodie Foster (Nyad).
While Ferrera landed a nomination, the moment was bittersweet for her, as the film's director, Greta Gerwig, and star, Margot Robbie, were snubbed in the Best Director and Leading Actress categories respectively.
In a statement to ET, Ferrera celebrated the career milestone saying, "I'm stunned and so moved to be nominated among the brilliant artists who have done beautiful and important work this year. And I'm so proud to get to bring Latiné representation to this year's Academy Awards, along with my fellow Latiné nominees. May the diversity of voices acknowledged by the Academy continue to grow!"
She continued, "I'm thrilled to celebrate my phenomenal Barbie family and all their achievements. Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie made history and raised the bar with Barbie. The cultural and industry impact they've achieved will be felt for generations and I'm so thankful to them for asking me to be a part of it."
Barbie is nominated for a total of eight awards including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay. Ryan Gosling (Ken) is nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category.
The 2024 Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, airs live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 10, at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET on ABC. Follow along at ETonline.com for full Oscars coverage, including red carpet arrivals, the complete winners list and more.
