The film, which premieres this June, marks 'Grey's Anatomy' star Kim Raver's directorial debut.
Alyssa Milano is at the center of an unlikely love triangle.
The 46-year-old actress stars in Lifetime's upcoming original film, Tempting Fate, based on Jane Green's best-selling novel, which will premiere Saturday, June 15 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, ET has exclusively learned. The film marks Grey's Anatomy star Kim Raver's directorial debut and is one of three Jane Green book-to-screen adaptations executive produced by Raver and her husband, indie filmmaker Manu Boyer.
In Tempting Fate, Milano plays mother of two, Gabby, whose picture-perfect marriage to her doctor husband, Elliott (Steve Kazee), is jeopardized when she has a passionate affair with a younger man, Matt (Zane Holtz), after the two go into business together. Their affair forces Gabby to face life-altering consequences when she discovers she is pregnant with Matt's baby, which threatens the state of her marriage and rocks her family unit to its core.
In ET's exclusive first teaser for the movie, the speed in which Gabby's world gets turned upside down is almost immediate. And when she breaks the shocking pregnancy news to her husband, things spiral out of control even more.
"You're not able to see the ripple effect of what you've done?" a stunned Elliott asks Gabby, as the promo cuts to Gabby learning the news from her doctor that she's carrying another man's baby. Gulp. "What am I going to do?" Gabby desperately asks her friend.
Following Tempting Fate, Lifetime premieres two more originals films adapted from Jane Green novels, To Have and to Hold, starring Erika Christensen, on Saturday, June 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and Family Pictures, starring Justina Machado, Elisabeth Rohm and Matt Passmore, on Saturday, June 29 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
In To Have and to Hold, Alice (Christensen), who is engaged to be married to her high school crush, the wealthy and successful Joe (Antonio Cupo), allows him to mold her into his ideal socialite wife. Despite her best efforts to be the woman of his dreams, he can't help but be unfaithful to her and when it negatively impacts his career, Alice's life is turned upside down -- and she turns to her best friend Emily's (Carmel Amit) beau, Harry (Andy Favreau).
Family Pictures revolves around two strangers living on opposite coasts, Sylvie (Machado) and Maggie (Rohm), who leave similar lives with husbands who often travel for work and daughters about to leave the nest. When their daughters become friends on a college tour, they soon discover a shocking secret that threatens to tear both families apart.
