The actor died on Tuesday after a private cancer battle.
Television star Adan Canto, best known for roles on The Cleaning Lady, Narcos, and Designated Survivor, died on Tuesday at the age of 42.
The actor had been fighting a private battle with appendiceal cancer, his rep told The Hollywood Reporter, also confirming that Canto had not been involved in the ongoing third season of The Cleaning Lady, in his role as Arman Morales, due to his health issues.
"Adan had a depth of spirit that few truly knew. Those who glimpsed it were changed forever," read a statement to THR. "He will be greatly missed by so many."
Warner Bros. and Fox Entertainment also shared a statement on the actor's death, saying, "We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Adan Canto. A wonderful actor and dear friend, we were honored to have him as part of the Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment families since his U.S. debut in The Following more than a decade ago. Most recently, he lit up the screen in The Cleaning Lady with a powerful performance that showcased his artistry, range, depth and vulnerability. This is an unfathomable loss, and we grieve alongside his wife Stephanie, their children and loved ones. We will miss Adan dearly."

"He was the strongest person I know in every sense of the word and I am so angry that this happened," she wrote. "No one deserved this less than this sweet, brilliant, kind, and gentle man. Fuck cancer. Fuck. I’m so sorry for everyone hurting at this devastating loss and am beyond heartbroken for his family. You’ll be in my heart always 🤍."
On the big screen, Canto also starred in Agent Game, Bruised and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
