The show originally ran from 2001 to 2005.

The Proud Family is coming back -- at least according to Jo Marie Payton.

The actress, who voiced Suga Mama on the original Disney Channel series, said on Tuesday's episode of Strahan, Sara and Keke that The Proud Family will return with new episodes on Disney+ next year. ET has reached out to Disney for comment.

Payton shared the news while speaking with Palmer about the series; the 26-year-old actress had asked Palmer if she was anything like her character.

"Yeah. Suga's large and in charge, that's all I've got to say -- except for Suga Mama will be doing some new episodes come February," Payton teased.

Tommy Davidson, who played Oscar Proud, previously told Where Is the Buzz in August that The Proud Family was being rebooted. The original cast of the animated series -- which ran from 2001 to 2005 -- includes Kyla Pratt, Paula Jai Parker, Tara Strong, Karen Malina White, Soleil Moon Frye, Alisa Reyes, Orlando Brown and Raquel Lee.

Disney+ is already home to another Disney Channel revival, Lizzie McGuire. See more in the video below.
