90 Day Fiancé stars Emily and Kobe Blaise have welcomed baby No. 3! The couple welcomed a third child, their baby boy Atem, into the world on Friday, March 15, at 3:34 p.m. He weighed in at 10lb, 2 oz.
Atem joins his older siblings Koban, 4, and Scarlett, 2.
"Kobe and I are so excited to share we welcomed a beautiful healthy baby boy to our family!" Emily says. "Our hearts are overflowing with love watching Koban and Scarlett love on their new baby brother Atem. He's the perfect addition to our family and we are so excited for this new journey as a family of five!"
The announcement was a combined birth and sex reveal for the reality TV stars who told ET exclusively in November that they were waiting to find out if the baby was a boy or a girl.
"Kobe and I couldn't be more thrilled to welcome another beautiful baby into our family!" Emily shared at the time.
The excited mom also shared that their older two children were over the moon to become big siblings and that they were impatiently awaiting the arrival of the baby.
"Koban and Scarlett are both so excited. They make sure to sing, kiss, and hug Mommy's belly every day," she said. "We can't wait to become a family of 5 in 2024!"
The couple is now settling into their life in Kansas, where Emily is from. It's a happy update to a story filled with bumps along the way.
Emily and Kobe met in China while she was teaching English abroad and Kobe, who's from Cameroon, was working as an underwear model. What was initially a one-night stand turned into something more quickly, and he proposed in China. Four weeks into their engagement, she found out she was pregnant with Koban.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Emily returned home to the United States and Kobe went back to Cameroon as they worked to secure a visa for him. Ultimately, he was able to move to the U.S., nearly a year and a half after their son was born.
Once they were finally reunited, Kobe ended up moving in with Emily's parents, David and Lisa. Her father requested that while they were living under his roof and getting settled financially, they wait to have additional kids. They soon after, however, found out that they were expecting their second baby, which Emily told ET they did not intend and found to be a complete surprise.
"We really did use an app," she says. "Here's the thing is I was like, 'OK, so we use condoms now. We are not having another baby.' But when he first got here, it had been two years and I was like, 'Wow, I want to have a lot of sex with you.' And so I'm like, I downloaded this app, and we're both Catholic. I'm like, 'We're going to do, like, the natural birth control, like, parent planning.' And so I downloaded this app and it was just like, 'This is when you don't have to pull out and this is when you do.' And you know what, before we took that pregnancy test, like, two weeks before I actually took another one just to make sure I wasn't pregnant and I was not. So I was like, 'Oh, OK. It's working.' We're, like, working with my ovulation or whatever. ... I haven't been on birth control for years and Kobe was very much like, 'Do not take it.' So I was like, 'OK, I love you. We're going to use an app and it'll be fine.'"
All in all, though, Emily says her parents reacted to the surprise pregnancy in a better-than-anticipated way, sharing that they "handled it very, very well."
At the season 10 premiere of 90 Day Fiancé in New York City, the couple told ET that after the arrival of their daughter, they were certainly planning to expand their family.
"When we're out of my mom's house and my dad's house, we kept saying, like, once we move out, because, you know, he comes from 10 siblings, I come from five and so we do want, like, four or five I think would be good," Emily said.
Kobe added, "We want to have a big family and I used to, you know, grow up thinking I was going to beat my dad's record, but after seeing the reality of life I'm like, we're not beating my dad's record in the U.S. If it was in Africa, would of been a whole different, but in the U.S. raising kids, man, it's something else."
