The 2022 CMT Awards air live from Nashville on April 11.
Get ready to move, Nashville! The 2022 CMT Music Awards are just around the corner, and the line-up is stacked with a roster of some of this year’s nominees and some winners from awards shows past.
Kenny Chesney will close out the show, marking his first return to the CMT stage in seven years. The country crooner will be performing his hit song, "Beers in Mexico."
Chesney is also about to embark on his Here And Now 2022 tour, which kicks off at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, on April 23. "When you do [music] video right, it’s a lot like hitting the stage with everything you’ve got,” the eight-time Entertainer of the Year said in a press release. “You can give people so much more than a song or a record; you can show them the power and the emotion that’s driving what’s inside the songs. So, for us to come be part of [Monday's CMT Music Awards], it’s bringing who we are during concerts to a place where people have seen so many of these videos. And it’s always great to be able to close down the night!"
Chesney added, "For us, to be part of what will change people’s lives, to show what’s possible and to celebrate how rocking the music is? That’s why we all do what we do. And as everyone knows, my road family and I live by the battle cry -- ‘Who lives like we do? WE DO!’ So, here’s to Monday night, and seeing how live this can be."
The CMT Music Awards is known for bringing some of the best world premiere performances and biggest collaborations and this year is no exception.
