Jennifer Garner has found her second calling.
Jennifer Garner has found her second calling.
It's no secret that the 45-year-old actress is a big fan of Barefoot Contessa star Ina Garten, and on Wednesday, she paid tribute to her with a cooking video of herself making Garten's recipe for honey white bread. Wearing a festive plaid shirt and an apron, Garner obviously had fun making her "pretend cooking show."
"I'm far from an expert, but if you want to make your family happy over and over again, this is one recipe that if you get it down, you can do anything with it, by Ina," she says, before hilariously kissing the cookbook. "Love you, Ina."
After adding in her own little tips, Garner later makes "breadmen" with the dough, which she explains her mother used to cook for her and her sisters when they were young. Garner has passed down the tradition to her own three kids with ex-husband Ben Affleck -- 12-year-old Violet, 8-year-old Seraphina and 5-year-old Samuel.
"The thing I like about making breadmen with half your dough is they are ready right away," she says. "I never do a second rise with them -- sorry Barefoot, I don't know, I just never do -- and, they remind me of my mom. And it doesn't matter that you don't know what you're doing, these could not be less perfect, but my kids will love them."
Last month, Garner confessed to ET that she's still starstruck by Garten.
"I am starstruck by children's book authors, big time," she also revealed. "I met Marla Frazee and was just, didn't even know what to say to her. I am starstruck by ballerinas, big time. I am starstruck...I heard this woman play the saxophone the other day, she was so amazing. I couldn't look at her after. Just anyone who can do something that you can't do. ... Barefoot Contessa!"
Meanwhile, Garner's latest film, Love, Simon -- a modern-day coming out story co-starring Josh Duhamel -- is out in March. Watch the trailer below:
