“It’s going to be amazing. We’re going to have an incredible cast, as always,” the 30-year-old dancer promised on Tuesday. “But I’m also excited for the pros. We have a lot of different pros coming back. Some pros from back, back in the day, so I’m excited.”

“It’s a new show,” Chmerkovskiy added. “It’s constantly evolving, and we have a nice mix and balance of young kids that are inspired and very motivated to bring out the essence of this generation, but also we have some more classic, conservative dancers from the past as well.”

While the full cast won’t be unveiled until Aug. 30, there are a few names who won’t be competing in the ballroom. Not returning to DWTS this season is Peta Murgatroyd, who is expecting her first child with fiancé Maksim Chmerkovskiy and was last season’s mirror ball champion with partner Nyle DiMarco.

Kym Johnson,
40, recently told ET that she is “done” with DWTS after marrying her season 20 partner, Shark Tank’s Robert Herjavec, in July. “What a way to end,” the two-time champ said. “It’s like, ‘Thank you, Dancing With the Stars.’”

Carson, who won season 19 with partner Alfonso Ribeiro, recently stopped by ET’s Burbank studios to dish on the new season, revealing that she had yet to find out who her celebrity partner would be.

“Hopefully he's nice,” the 22-year-old dance pro told ET. “I'm just kinda waiting until they give me the heads up to go... The madness hasn't started yet.”
