Zachary Levi and Mandy Moore reprise their roles as Rapunzel and Eugene, aka Flynn Rider.
It’s no Tangled sequel, but this is still awesome news!
Disney is adapting its successful 2010 big-screen blockbuster for a new animated television series on Disney Channel – and the film’s original voice stars, Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, are back to reprise their roles as Rapunzel and Eugene (aka Flynn Rider).
The new series will take place after the events of the feature film and before the 2012 short, Tangled Ever After, which saw Rapunzel and Eugene about to marry. (The short film drew an impressive 5 million viewers to Disney Channel in its premiere.)

In the series, Rapunzel acquaints herself with her parents, her kingdom and the people of Corona. But instead of accepting her royal destiny, she puts her duties and impending marriage to Eugene on hold for more adventures, much to the chagrin of her parents.

Other Tangled favorites joining the new journey are Pascal, the chameleon sidekick; Maximus, the no-nonsense horse; and the Snuggly Duckling Pub Thugs.
A new character, Cassandra, a tough-as-nails handmaiden who becomes Rapunzel’s confidante, will also be featured.
Alan Menken, the Oscar-winning composer behind the score for Tangled, will also be back, along with lyricist Glenn Slater. Chris Sonnenburg (Enchanted) and Shane Prigmore (The Lego Movie) developed the Disney Television Animation project.
Tangled will premiere on Disney Channel in 2017.
