The votes have been counted, and season 11 has found its bachelorette.
WARNING: Spoilers Ahead!
This season of The Bachelorette kicked off with an interesting new twist: Instead of one Bachelorette looking for true love, there were two women vying for the title.
Twenty nine-year-old Kaitlyn Bristowe and 28-year-old Britt Nilsson, who both unsuccessfully competed for the heart of Chris Soules during the last season of The Bachelor, went (amicably) head-to-head for the chance to find their future husband.
This meant the season started off with both girls trying to secure the favor of the 25 suitors whose votes would determine which woman would be the season’s Bachelorette.

After a controversial premiere on Monday, the votes were tallied and the suitors’ decision was revealed at the beginning of Tuesday’s special episode.
While both wanted it with all their heart, it was up to host Chris Harrison to dash the dreams of one of the two sweet hopefuls.
In a sad moment at the very open of the episode, Chris had to break the news to Britt that the majority of votes went to Kaitlyn.
While Britt was heartbroken, she kept it classy and didn’t try to drag anyone through the mud. In her tearstained drive home in the limo, she could only lament the missed opportunity.
“I want to be a wife and a mom more than anything in the world,” Britt said, adding that the chance at meeting men who are looking for the same connection was such a promising opportunity. “I’m still grateful for the experience, but I almost wish that I hadn’t met them.”
After letting Britt down easy, Chris was able to share the good news with Kaitlyn, who was brought to tears. The first thing she did was call her mom, then it was off to meet with the remaining men.
Now, Kaitlyn faces the serious challenge of figuring out whether or not the men who voted for Britt will still be able to give her the love she’s looking for.
This became a point of contention for a number of the remaining men who voted for Kaitlyn, as many believed that anyone who voted for Britt should be automatically kicked out. While this didn’t happen, one contestant wasn’t happy with the Bachelorette who was chosen, and decided to be honest with her.
Contestant Brady Toops took Kaitlyn aside during the rose ceremony to confess that he had strong feelings for Britt, and didn’t think it would be right to continue to compete on the show. It was a move that surprised Kaitlyn, but one that she said she really appreciated.
Brady declared that he was going to find Britt and express his love in person. As crazy as that might sound, Chris Harrison met Brady outside the Bachelorette mansion and told him that he would do whatever he could to help the two connect.

After handing out 19 roses, Kaitlyn chose to say goodbye to four additional suitors: Bradley, David, Josh, and Shawn. With Brady looking for love with the rejected would-be Bachelorette Britt and the (supposedly) drunken lunatic Ryan M. kicked off by Chris on Sunday for outrageously horrible behavior, the field of future husbands has already gotten significantly smaller.
During the end credits of the show, we see Brady coming to Britt’s hotel room to confess his feelings, but the episode ends on a cliffhanger with Brady knocking on the door to her suite.
Maybe getting passed over for the chance to compete was the best thing to happen to Britt.
