Looks can be deceiving.
This is a real bummer.
It had been nearly three seasons since The Good Wife’s Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi graced the screen together on the CBS legal drama. On the May 10 finale, fans finally got their wish – or so they thought.

Margulies’ Alicia Florrick and Panjabi’s Kalinda, characters who were once best friends, shared one final conversation during a three-minute scene in a bar. (In recent seasons, the characters often communicated by phone.) Fans and viewers speculated that the scene between Margulies and Panjabi, which some described as “stilted” and “awkwardly edited,” may have been shot separately.
Now TVLine reports that the speculation is true, alleging that the two actors “did not shoot that scene together.”
Instead, “body doubles were employed for the single shots, and the two-shot was spliced together in post-production,” the report claims.

With this new intel in mind, watch the scene between Alicia and Kalinda again, and decide for yourself:
“Alicia, I’m not very good at talking. I never have been,” Kalinda says. “But I do have to say this: My time with you as your friend was the best I ever had. And I’m sorry. I’m really sorry that things got messed up.”
“I wish I had the chance to do it over again,” Alicia says in response before the two clink their glasses and take the shots.
Those last words certainly hold more weight now, don’t they?
Though Kalinda will no longer be a regular presence on The Good Wife – Panjabi will next grace the big screen in the disaster film San Andreas – here’s to hoping for one final moment between the two former friends.
