After months of anticipation, MTV debuted the very first trailer for its new Scream series during Sunday's MTV Movie Awards -- and it's as terrifying as you could imagine.
Scream star Bella Thorne took the stage to introduce the footage, calling it an "awesomely bloody series."

MTV's Scream, which was officially picked up to series for a 10-episode run last October, is based on the hit big-screen horror franchise.
In the new TV series, set after a cyber-bullying incident results in a murder, the violence stirs up memories of a killing spree from the past that has maybe, just maybe, inspired a new killer.

Thorne leads the ensemble cast, which includes Willa Fitzgerald, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Amadeaus Serafini, John Karna, Connor Weil, Carlson Young and Dale Heidenreich.
Scream premieres June 30 on MTV.
