Legend sat at his piano for a soulful rendition of "America the Beautiful," over visuals of host state Arizona’s Grand Canyon National Park, as well as aerial shots of Seattle and Boston.
After the colors were presented, Frozen star Idina Menzel took the field for her performance of the National Anthem.
Donning a classy draped black dress, Menzel took her time with the patriotic acappella performance, setting her own pace in a lovely rendition.
The crowd overpowered Menzel's vocals at a few moments, with cheers at shots of overseas service members and the Thunderbirds flying overhead, and boos at the sight of rival players and coaches.
Menzel looked thrilled when she concluded the anthem flawlessly, finishing with a big smile.
