The Flash is quickly becoming one of the most addicting shows on TV!
Not only does the smash hit honor the DC Comics fandom on a weekly basis, it also features one of the most swoon-worthy characters in The CW's history. And now the superhero drama is amping up the action even more in this Tuesday's all-new episode.
Comic book fans will be gifted with not one, but two beloved characters from the DC lore: Bette Sans Souci aka Plastique, played by Kelly Frye, and Sleepy Hollow's Clancy Brown as Wade Elling aka The General.

When a bomb goes off in Central City the army — lead by General Elling — rolls into town in hopes of completing the top secret mission of capturing and harnessing his former soldier, Bette. Fans of the comic know that Bette/Plastique is a meta-human who can blow things up just by touching them — so needless to say it's going to be an explosive episode!
We chatted with the veteran himself, and Brown spilled that unlike some of the other so-called "villains" on the show, Elling is working for his vision of the greater good. "He doesn’t care how [the meta-humans] got there, and he doesn’t want them to change," Brown explained. "He wants them under his control so that he can somehow develop them into assets for the military."
"He's very pragmatic," the actor continued. "The science of it doesn't really matter to him that much. He's a fellow that's trying to turn any threat into an asset for the United States."

So what happens when The General catches a glimpse of the fastest man alive? "As soon as he sees him he gets very excited," Brown gushed. "He's putting two and two together. The good thing is he's a military guy, and he wants to keep it all a secret too. He doesn't want to let the world know. He wants to be able to collect these guys and control them for patriotic purposes, but that's not necessarily what our scientists want to happen."
And while The Flash is trying to deal with Central City's newest threat, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is trying to convince Iris (Candice Patton) to stop her obsession with "The Red Steak" that keeps zooming around town.
"It just makes Barry really nervous because she's so close to it and he's just trying to get her to stop doing it," Grant revealed on-set of The Flash in Vancouver last month. "He's not telling her and he's avoiding her knowing anything about it as much as he can. Now he's trying to get her to stop writing the blog for her safety and because he doesn't want her to find out."
The Flash might even go as far as to pay Iris a little visit in this week's episode in order to de-rail her efforts!

However, Patton assured us that Iris will not stop digging until she discovers the truth. "Iris likes danger apparently," the actress spilled. "The fact that Iris is always innately curious, and inquisitive, and going after the story will [put her] in a lot of dangerous situations."
And speaking of dangerous situations, Gustin revealed that as this season continues the villains are going to get more and more destructive. "We're going to see a lot of really classic rogues with a new twist on them," the actor teased.
The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
