Grumpy Cat Finds Her Grumpy Voice in 'Parks and Recreation's' Aubrey Plaza

The pitch pur-fect casting almost didn't happen -- a certain 'Glee' star reportedly turned down the role.

File this under matches made in casting heaven.

Parks and Recreation's Aubrey Plaza will be lending her voice to the Grumpy Cat Lifetime TV movie, Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever, as the titular feline. Even though Grumpy would probably scoff at the news, we can't think of a better actress for the role.

But believe it or not, Plaza wasn't actually the first choice for the role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Glee's Jane Lynch was offered a hefty paycheck to voice the cat but turned down the offer (#NO) after winning an Emmy for outstanding reality host for Hollywood Game Night.

We could certainly imagine Sue Sylvester's acerbic tone coming out of that tiny cat, but there's something about April Ludgate's bored-yet-biting one-liners that hits just the right Grumpy note.
Plus, we all know how April feels about pets.
