New publicity pictures for Downton Abbey's upcoming fifth series went up today, and while the new season is set to pick up six months after last, someone clearly went way too far adjusting for the time leap.
Well, this is embarrassing.
Yes, that is a very modern water bottle on Lord Grantham and Lady Edith's mantle.

While the photo appears to have been taken down, we challenge the creators of the show to double-down, and make the water bottle a relevant plot point of Series Five. Or better yet, introduce more hard to spot, period-inappropriate objects into the show, and challenge audiences to spot them. You have to admit, that would make for a pretty terrific drinking game.
