Sasheer Zamata, who trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City, will make her debut on January 18 with host and musical guest Drake. Fey shared her excitement for the newest member of the sketch series, telling The Hollywood Reporter, "I think Kerry Washington did such a great job on the [Nov. 2] show [in a sketch that addressed the controversy]. And you saw how great it was for Jay Pharoah to have someone playing Michelle Obama opposite [his President Obama]." WATCH.
Fey, 43, adds, "So I feel like they registered that really quickly and they've acted on it really quickly."
Poehler, also a SNL alum, decided not to comment, telling THR, "Ugh, I don't want to talk about this. Pass."
