Ryan Murphy Says 'Glee' Will End Next Season
Glee creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed that the hit FOX musical series will end after next season.
Speaking to reporters at a FX event at the Paley Center Wednesday night, Murphy said that the current two-year pickup of Glee would indeed be its last, according to Deadline.
"The whole [last] year of the show -- which will be next year -- was really designed around Rachel (Lea Michele) and Cory (Monteith)/Finn story. I always knew that. I always knew how it would end," Murphy said. "I knew what the last shot was -- he was in it. I knew what the last line was; she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do."

Murphy said Monteith's untimely death also gave him a new idea he plans to pitch to FOX for an end to the series that would honor the late actor. "I think it's very satisfactory and kind of in his honor, which I love," he said of the new idea.
