'Broke Girls' Actress Is Best Friends with Co-Star
2 Broke Girls star Kat Dennings attributes much of the show's success to her real-life friendship with co-star Beth Behrs, since it creates an unusual on-screen chemistry that resonates with viewers.
"Beth and I genuinely love each other and are best friends in real life and that probably reads," Dennings told us before attending a panel discussion on the show Thursday at the Paley Center For Media's PaleyFest 2013 in Beverly Hills. "It's not like you think these two girls are faking that they love each other, we really do love each other," Dennings said, adding that friendship undoubtedly has helped the success of the show. "That's probably a part of it -- that it feels real and genuine, which it is."
Her co-star Beth Behrs told us she concurs with this idea. "All of our cast really gets along well. And you know, Kat and I are really great friends and I think you can see that chemistry onscreen, and I hope that's why people watch. Because we're having a good time and I think that shows."

In the show, Dennings and Behrs portray down-on-their-luck waitresses who become friends while trying to make a living at a Brooklyn diner. When asked which co-stars crack her up the most during filming, Behrs said it would have to be a tie between Jonathan (Kite) and Jennifer Coolidge, which makes sense because their characters are together. "Those two crack me up, they're hilarious."
