Michael Strahan Makes His 'Live' Debut!

The cat was let out of the bag last week, but Michael Strahan's new job was officially confirmed this morning when he rushed from a large black car onto the Live! set and into Kelly Ripa's open arms!

After a sweet smooch, the new Live with Kelly & Michael logo debuted behind the new duo as they held hands and hugged. "I am speechless," Strahan said. "I am so happy to be here and be a part of this. You know how you say it's a dream come true, but I truly can't say that I ever even dreamed this."

Funnily enough, Ripa then introduced a clip from Strahan's first appearance on the show in 2008 where he joked with Regis about replacing him one day! "Unbelievable," Strahan said after watching the clip. "Regis, I was joking ... but I'm glad the joke came true."

Strahan beat out more than 50 other celebrities to snag Regis Philbin's seat, which he vacated in November 2011. Of deciding between all these worthy candidates, Ripa joked on Good Morning America, "I think the deciding factor was whoever paid Gelman off -- whoever showered him with cases of wine, whoever volunteered to clean his pool and fan him."
