Kim K to Make $17.9 M off Wedding?
While most couples are in debt after throwing their wedding, it's exactly the opposite for Kim Kardashian and new husband Kris Humphries. According to a New York Post report, the couple stands to rake in about $17.9 million just for holding the extravagant wedding -- all by successfully turning it into an enormous media event expected to be watched by millions.
The exclusive photo rights of the wedding alone were reportedly sold to People for $2.5 million, but it's television where the couple is really set to bring in the cash. Saturday's ceremony will be turned into a 4-hour, two-part TV special called Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event set to air in October on E!, reportedly bringing in 12 million to 15 million for the Kardashian family and for show producer Ryan Seacrest.
But not only are the couple making millions off the wedding, it turns out they didn't even have to pay for it! Vendors, eager for the publicity Kim is able to generate, either comped their services or gave the couple huge discounts. Kim reportedly received her much-talked about three $20,000 Vera Wang gowns all for free, as well as $400,000 worth of Perrier Jouet Champagne. Her $10,000 Lehr & Black wedding invitations, which she sent out to her star-studded guest list including Eva Longoria, Demi Lovato, George Lopez and Lindsay Lohan, were also reportedly free.
But perhaps what takes the wedding cake is that Kim's $2 million 20.5 carat engagement ring by jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, which raised more than a few eyebrows due to its extravagance, is reportedly deeply discounted, as well as the couple's $1 million wedding bands.
Guess the Kardashians really know how to bring in that Kash!
