The Duchess of York shared her reactions on Twitter.
The Duchess approves! Shortly after the news broke that Princess Eugenie was engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank, her mother, Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson, the Duchess of York, took to Twitter to show her excitement.
“Total joy!! #engagement,” she wrote along with a Twitter photo of the happy couple. On the pic she wrote, “A total embrace of goodness and joy. We love Jack and I am so excited to have a son, a brother and a best friend. Eugenie is one of the finest people I know and so together it will be pure harmony.”
But the love fest didn’t stop there. Fergie also posted a shot of her daughter and future son-in-law on a boat, writing, “They float with laughter and love.. although a boat helps! #engagement #eugieandjack.”
She shared one last photo of the pair, hugging, with the caption, “I always say that the river flows well to its destiny because of the guidance of a solid rock #engagement #eugieandjack.”
The Duchess’ ex-husband, Prince Andrew, retweeted her sentiments on his own account. Fergie and Andrew officially divorced in 1996, one year after the divorce of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. They are also parents to Princess Beatrice.
Eugenie and Jack got engaged in Nicaragua earlier this month. They plan to tie the knot in Fall 2018 at George’s Chapel in Windsor.
