The actress opened up about her upcoming birthday and dished on the 'fantastic' experience of shooting her new film 'The Beguiled' on Monday.
Nicole Kidman might be Hollywood royalty, but the superstar says she's planning on keeping her upcoming 50th birthday a "low-key" affair.
ET's Denny Directo caught up with the Oscar winner -- who celebrates her special day on June 20 -- at the Los Angeles premiere of her new drama, The Beguiled, on Monday, and the star opened up about hitting the big 5-0.
"I'm absolutely embracing it," Kidman shared. "I try to embrace all parts of my life now because I think you just go, 'Wow. [I'm] so lucky, so blessed.'"
The actress said she plans on spending her birthday celebrations with those that mean the most to her, including her mother, Janelle.
"[I'm] making an effort to go back and see my mom in Australia and spend time [with her]," she explained. "I've got the whole summer off, so I'm just kind of relaxing."
Between an Oscar nomination for Lion and her celebrated turn in the hit HBO miniseries Big Little Lies, Kidman is having quite the year -- and she's not the only one. The actress' husband, Keith Urban, recently walked away with four trophies at the CMT Awards last week as his wife adorably cheered him on from the audience.
"It was great the other night with Keith, when he won all those awards," Kidman marveled. "Just watching him, having put so much work into what he does, and him receiving those accolades from the fans, that was amazing."
That actress added that she's appreciative of the opportunity to lead such a full life and that she's just "grateful to be alive."
Kidman's latest film, The Beguiled, was directed by Sofia Coppola and co-stars Elle Fanning and Kirsten Dunst, and the actress had nothing but praise for the experience of getting to work on such a female-driven project.

"I've managed to do two now! I did Big Little Lies and then Beguiled in a row," Kidman said, referencing the popular HBO adaptation, in which she starred alongside Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoe Kravitz.
"[It's] so fantastic! I loved it!" Kidman exclaimed. "Bring it on, give me more girls, more women!"
The Beguiled opens in limited release in Los Angeles and New York on June 23, and expands into wide release across the country on June 30.
