As terrifying an experience as it was, the 36-year-old reality star believes the Paris robbery changed her for the better.
As terrifying as it may have been, Kim Kardashian West says being robbed at gunpoint in Paris may have changed her for the better.
During her lengthy sit-down on Thursday's Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 36-year-old reality star gave a teary-eyed account about her terrifying attack and speculated that it may have been fate.
"I know this sounds crazy, but I know that was meant to happen to me," she told host Ellen DeGeneres. "I'm such a different person."
"I was definitely materialistic before," she continued, adding, "I just don't care about that stuff anymore."
"I'm so happy that my kids get this me," Kim shared.

Understandably, the incident has made the mother of two rethink her accessorizing, particularly when traveling.
"It's not to say I'll never wear jewelry again or anything like that. I truly don't know if I'd ever feel comfortable," she admitted. "I truly don't know if I'd ever wear real jewelry again."
"My whole life has changed as far as how I travel," Kim continued. "I never thought that I'd need security staying outside my door."
"Now I have several. Just for me to be able to sleep at night," she shared.
In addition to recounting the robbery, Kim used the interview as an opportunity to open up about Caitlyn Jenner's controversial new tell-all book, explaining that her "heart breaks" for how her mom, Kris Jenner, is portrayed in the memoir.
