Happy anniversary Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux!
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux celebrated a very special milestone on Friday -- their one-year wedding anniversary!
The couple tied the knot at their home in Bel-Air, California, on Aug. 5, 2015, in a surprise wedding ceremony disguised as a 44th birthday party for Theroux. The two haven't had a problem keeping the details private, even a year later.
"We had the beautiful luxury of having a beautiful private moment and I’m going to be selfish and keep it that way!" Aniston, 47, told ET last August about their intimate ceremony -- which was attended by such A-list pals as Jimmy Kimmel, Howard Stern, Ellen DeGeneres, Sandra Bullock, and Courteney Cox -- at the She's Funny That Way premiere.
And so far, it's been smooth sailing for the gorgeous, low-key couple.
"Married life is so normal and fun and not much different," Aniston told Harper's Bazaar in March. "We felt married for so long."
"I'm lucky because Justin is the funniest person I've met, and we make each other laugh," she added. "Laughter is one of the great keys to staying youthful."
However, 44-year-old Theroux had a different take on finally tying the knot. "It does feel different," he told People last August about his new title as husband. "I'm very happy. It's nice to be able to look down and see a new piece of jewelry on my finger."
"It feels very touching," he also told news.com.au last September about getting to call Aniston his wife. "I can't remember the first time I said those words but it feels fantastic. It's a comfortable term. I was getting tired of saying 'fiancee.' That sounds adorable for about six months and then you go, 'OK, we got to make some time for this.'"
Since exchanging vows, the two appear more smitten with one another than ever. Last November, Theroux told ET the sweet compliment he gives his wife the most when we caught up with him at the launch of the game, Call of Duty: Black Ops III.
"She's beautiful," he gushed. "Not to be corny, but it's true. So I constantly say that."
And despite their busy schedules, the two always make time for one another. Aniston and Theroux have plenty of sweet date nights together, and also enjoy romantic getaways. The two spent Valentine's Day this year in Paris, France, when Theroux shared a gorgeous Instagram pic of Aniston showing off her dazzling ring.
… And Theroux definitely isn't afraid to go all out for his wife. "We're going to probably have a romantic date night," he dished to ET in February about his Valentine's Day plans at the Zoolander 2 premiere before he whisked Aniston off to Paris. "Her birthday falls like three days before so I'm just wearing out my credit card on her birthday."
The in-shape actors also share a love for delicious and healthy food.
"Justin and I both love to tinker in the kitchen," Aniston told Yahoo Food in January. "We make a pasta carbonara that's so easy. We have eggs from our chickens [the couple owns a chicken coop they inherited with their property], and then we make it 'skinny style' where we use turkey bacon instead of real bacon, eggs, and parmesan. No oil, butter or creams. And we use pasta water to make it juicier."
"He has brought the pasta back into my life. I don't know whether I should thank him or hate him for that," she also joked to Elle in April.
But they don't always have to agree on everything -- and that's OK! Theroux dished to ET about their differences when it comes to fashion when we caught up with him at the Zoolander 2 junket in February.
"[Jennifer] says, 'You have too many jackets' and it's true," he admitted when we asked if Aniston influences his style. "I have, like, a weird obsession about buying jackets and we live for the most part in Los Angeles, or I'm in Texas, so don't really need any winter coats, but a lot of times, she's like, 'Do you really need this many jackets?'"
... But he also doesn't understand her love of shoes.
"Trust me, I've gone to the garbage can with many piles of shoes," he joked.
Although, when it comes to the important things, the two always have one another's back.
When Aniston penned an empowering op-ed against body shaming and the judgment women feel for not being married or having children last month -- after tabloids speculated she was pregnant following the release of pictures of her and Theroux vacationing in Mexico -- Theroux lent his support with a sweet Instagram post. The Leftovers star shared a black-and-white photo of Aniston, calling her his "woman crush Wednesday."
"Here's just one reason why," Theroux wrote, linking to her essay on The Huffington Post.
... Judging by their first year of marriage, we bet the best is yet to come for the A-list couple!
