Following the incident, Gaga took to Twitter to explain what happened.
"Ya I got pulled over," the 30-year-old pop star wrote. "Big deal! I just haven't received plates yet for my new pick up!"
Each state is different, and in California, license plates get sent to drivers in the mail.
As ET previously reported, the New York native seemed ecstatic when she became a licensed driver earlier this month.
"Thelma and Puhleaaaze (And yes I FINALLY got my license after years of driving with an adult present ? and a learners permit)," she captioned an Instagram photo of herself sitting in the driver's seat of her new vehicle. "I’M FREE. Rollin with the homies."
Gaga also shared a photo of herself "at the DMV," followed by a snap taken immediately after she had passed her driving test. "PRAISE HIM," she captioned the hilarious pic.
