Watch as 'The View' co-host delivers a powerful, improvised speech about why it's not OK to hate on Kim K.
There are stars out there who, for some reason, everyone loves to hate. But at ET, we’re all about celebrating celebrities -- and now, we’re inviting some of our favorite personalities to stand up for the famous faces they think get an unfair rap.
First up in our new In Defense Of… series is Raven-Symoné. We caught up with The View co-host at YouTube Space NY, where she delivered a powerful, improvised speech in defense of Kim Kardashian West.

“Listen here, everybody. It took me a while to understand the Kardashian-ism of America,” Raven starts. “And I’m not mad at her for making that money, for using what she has, and for making those contracts that some of us can’t even make.”
“She understands what her worth is, she understands what she brings to our society, and she [capitalizes] on it,” she continues. “We can’t live without the Kim Kardashian. She’s actually very empowering for the woman, because she knows how to brand herself.”
“Some people can’t dance, some people can’t sing, some people can’t act,” Raven notes. “But some people have that X-factor, and that X-factor is what she has. She knows how to work it, she has great fashion sense, and her family took it over!”

“Don’t be mad at her, don’t be mad at the family. And if you’re not, that’s awesome, because you understand what it is,” Raven says. “Mind you, I still sit on the fence sometimes, but I’m appreciating her for what she is, not what I want her to be. I take her for who she is, and that’s all you should for anybody, because you don’t know what goes on in the back of her head.”
“You don’t know what goes on really in her house, unless the cameras are rolling,” Raven adds. “Trust me, half that stuff is probably scripted anyway. So, don’t hate on Kim, don’t be mad that her body’s banging. Don’t be mad that she married Kanye West. Don’t be mad she got [babies].”
“Just, you know, appreciate her for what she’s doing for her and her bank account, and that she [capitalized] on it, ‘cause some people will never have that, ever,” Raven concludes. “Good job.”
Um, can you say mic drop?

You can catch more of Raven’s unfiltered opinions every day on ABC’s The View at 11 a.m. ET. The show recently brought back its popular “Colors of the Ravenbow” series, which invites viewers to vote for how they think Raven should change up her style each week.
“We moved it to online, ‘cause you know, that’s where we go to get our information,” Raven explains. “That’s where we go to change stuff up.”
The first version of the series, which debuted earlier this year, only controlled what color Raven dyed her weave each week. But Raven says, why stop there?
“There are so many things that you can color on my body, including my nails, my lips, my eyes, my cheeks, my clothes, my shoes!” Raven notes. “And that’s what we’re doing.”
