It was an emotional nomination for the family, who has documented their maintaining of faith and family through Joey's cancer battle.
The Feeks told ET they reacted to the announcement with "excitement and tears," adding: "When you love country music as much as we do, to even be nominated for a Grammy for Best Duo/Group Country Vocal Performance is like winning the lottery."
Fellow nominee Blake Shelton had previously tweeted that he would like Joey + Rory to win the award, and in November 2015 told ET, "The courage that they as a family have displayed -- it's inspirational. It's sad, but it's special at the same time."
