Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville will name a wing after Lawrence.
Jennifer Lawrence is making a big-time donation to her hometown children’s hospital.
The Oscar-winning actress is donating $2 million to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. In a YouTube video posted Friday, Lawrence announced the establishment of the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, adding, “I challenge everyone to give whatever they can to raise an additional $2 million to help.”

“We are thankful for the generosity shown by the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation with this gift,” said Thomas D. Kmetz, a division president at the hospital. “We are equally thankful that she has put her trust in the outstanding work taking place at Kosair Children’s Hospital every day by challenging the community to join her in support of our heart care program.”
The unit aims to expand access to children in need of specialized heart care.

In December, Lawrence visited the hospital to surprise the patients and spread holiday cheer.
