If we didn’t already know who we were gonna call, we do now!
We’ve seen the cast of the Ghostbusters reboot suited up, but now we have our first shot of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones in action, bathed in slime-green light with proton packs at the ready. It’s safe to say we agree with OG Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd -- they definitely do look “adorable, hilarious, and badass.”

Let’s take a closer look at the new cast:
Melissa McCarthy as Abby Yates
(We’re guessing the Stantz of the group.)
Kate McKinnon as Jillian Holtzmann
(Maybe the Spengler? But way, way cooler?)
Kristen Wiig as Erin Gilbert
(The Venkman.)
Leslie Jones as Patty Tolan
(And the Zeddmore.)

Most of the original cast, including Aykroyd, Bill Murray (who previously said it was his “nightmare,” but has since come around), Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts, will cameo in different roles.
So, basically, the new cast is insanely talented and totally look the part and they have the original cast’s blessing. Yet there’s still backlash? Something does not compute. “The fact there was so much controversy because we were women was surprising to me,” Wiig has said. “Some people said some really not nice things about the fact that there were women. It didn’t make me mad; it just really bummed me out.”
Anyway, if it wouldn’t be too much to ask, could we please get a picture of Chris Hemsworth as Annie Potts?
