In a direct message conversation on Instagram with battle rapper Hitman Holla, who posted a screenshot of their exchange on Twitter, Drake responded to Meek Mill's slam with a simple message: "I signed up for greatness. This comes with it."

Hitman initially reached out to the Degrassi alum, writing, "I see da foolishness, you know me & Showw not buying it … U our guy keep killing u motivate n***as like us!" Hitman later quoted one of Drake's lyrics from the song "5AM in Toronto." "I show love never get the same outta n***as. I guess it's funny how money can make change outta n***as for real," he wrote.
The Missouri native explained his connection with Drake in later tweets, revealing that the Grammy winner donated money to his mother's breast cancer fund.
"That's my guy," Hitman tweeted. "Deeper than rap!"
On Tuesday, Meek took shots at Drake on Twitter, asking people to stop comparing the two.

"Stop comparing Drake to me too… He don't write his own raps! That's why he ain't tweet my album, because we found out!"
The diss drew plenty of attention from all sides, even prompting actor Drake Bell to get in on the action.
"Guys... Meek Mill is right... I haven't written my own rap in years," Bell joked. "I'm sorry."
