Shia LaBeouf Gave an Insane Motivational Speech...and Became a Hilarious Meme

Are you surprised?

Literally, none of this is surprising.

First, Shia LaBeouf and his performance art collaborators Luke Turner and Nastja Säde Rönkkö teamed up with London’s Central Saint Martins fine arts school for a new project called #INTRODUCTIONS. Art students submitted up to 30 seconds of text for Shia (rattail and all!) to perform in front of a green screen.

Behold, over 30 minutes of very on-brand Shia-ness:

“A lot of us became interested in the way that Shia was being used as an artist and engaging with his art practice, but also using his status as a celebrity as a platform for his work,” one student, Andrew Smith, told The Guardian. "Shia is in this place that oscillates between the two worlds of his mass audience and his art audience...This was also about branching those two audiences.”

One segment in particular stood out: This intense motivational speech.

“Don’t let your dreams be dreams. Yesterday, you said tomorrow,” Shia rants. “So JUST DO IT. MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE.”

Now, the Internet being the Internet, saw the green screen and a perfect opportunity to make a new meme. Thus, “MotivaShian” was born. Did you know Shia fits seamlessly into 2001: A Space Odyssey?
