Are they getting ready for Suri's birthday bash?
Katie Holmes shared a rare photo of Suri Cruise to Instagram on Wednesday.
The mother-daughter duo threw themselves quite the dress-up party, seemingly in an effort to get over the mid-week hump. In the photo, which the 36-year-old captioned, “#humpDAAAY!!!!!,” the pair is having a blast while adorned in some seriously fun accessories. The former Dawson’s Creek star and her daughter are facing each other while rocking matching over-sized orange glasses, hot pink boas, and a handful of multi-colored rings.
In another shot, we see a bunch of hands covered in a plethora of those over-sized jewels. Katie appropriately captioned that pic, "Some serious bling #party city."
Just a guess – but Katie and Suri could be playing dress-up in anticipation of Suri’s upcoming birthday – she turns nine on Saturday, April 18.

We know Suri is a fan of some Hollywood glitz and glam. In 2011, Katie dished to ET about how much her daughter enjoyed being on the set of her movie Jack and Jill.
“She loved being on set,” Katie gushed. “She's a sophisticated little girl and magical… she has a good time.”

This mother-daughter play-date comes just after reports surfaced suggesting that Suri’s dad, Tom Cruise, has been an absentee father allegedly due to his involvement with Scientology.
In wake of HBO’s documentary Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison Of Belief, Tom, one of Scientology’s most famous practitioners, has allegedly kept his distance from his daughter and ex-wife.
"My understanding is that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise don't even speak to each other," Piers Morgan said. "And she, I believe, is very concerned about the effect of the Church of Scientology on Tom Cruise."
