Madonna takes on Instagram.
It's the latest celebrity vs. Instagram battle.
Madonna is raising the question of why breasts are not allowed on the social media website, and she's making a point by censoring her own.
The 56-year-old singer is not a stranger to posting NSFW photos of herself. On Friday, she posted a NSFW pic of her naked body leaning against a fish statue and fountain, and she put in a censor bar so that it wouldn't be removed. This snap was first seen in her 1992 coffee table book, Sex.
She captioned it, "Why is it ok to show ass but not breasts? Drowning in the hypocrisy of social media," she wrote before adding a hashtag with the message, "art for freedom."

The "Rebel Heart" singer joins fellow artists Miley Cyrus and Rihanna who have also openly challenged Instagram's policies over their topless photos. Rihanna even quit Instagram for months.
Comedian Chelsea Handler resorted to Twitter to show off her boobs after she attempted to post a topless pic on a horse.

At the time, she compared her shirtless pic on a horse to one of Russian President Vladimir Putin as she tweeted, "Taking this down is sexist. I have every right to prove I have a better body than Putin," she tweeted. "If a man posts a photo of his nipples, it's ok, but not a woman? Are we in 1825?"
