Little Big Town's song "Girl Crush" has recently been in the news as a result of several country music stations allegedly pulling the song over its lyrics.
"I got a girl crush," Karen Fairchild sings. "I want to taste her lips."
According to ForTheCountryRecord.com, "a music director for a current country music station in Texas" claimed listeners were accusing the station of "promoting the gay agenda."
On Friday, Billboard reported that this controversy was "mostly fabricated." The report stated that "a dozen prominent programmers across the country" said they had received "few to no complaints about the song."
NEWS: Why 'Girl Crush' Was Controversial
Showing love for the song and for each other, Lambert and Shelton are no strangers to controversy as they have fought off divorce rumors.
In an interview with 60 Minutes last November, Lambert said she won't even do a joint interview with her husband.
"We feel like we're very honest with who we are and our relationship. We've kinda told the good, the bad, the ugly as our relationship has progressed from the beginning till now," she explained. "And people dig anyway and they make up lies, so I feel like, we don't really hold back, because if you hold back they're going to dig anyway so might as well just tell it."
Lambert and Shelton have been happily married since 2011.
